I feel as if I've written on speaking things to reality. Just a couple weeks ago, I told my sister I would meet my inspirations, very soon: Vashtie and Hannah Bronfman. Both women are DJs, workout enthusiasts and native New Yorkers, amongst many other amazing traits. Why I look up to these talented women? They're low-key and humble individuals. Yes, they're celebrities with hectic schedules, no doubt, but I've always believed if I ever ran into Hannah in a SoHo cafe or Vashtie spinning tracks at Webster Hall or a late night Jack's Wife's Freda, we would have great conversations...then again, maybe that's all in my head.

After convincing my sister to come, we stopped by Lord & Taylor on 5th Ave for a collaboration with New York Magazine and The Cut, introducing the BirdCage "concept shop," a selective combination of unique clothing, home décor and accessories, just in time for the holidays. We shopped, we sipped (rosemary lime gimlet was heavenly and reminded me of summer), I won a candle giveaway from Joya (25 winners out of 500 potentials keys to open the "birdcage"!) and we met the sweetheart, Hannah Bronfman, who was the DJ for the evening. Coincidentally, I also got the chance to meet her lovely mother, whom I was able to snap a quick flick of as well!
